The following paragraph was written by Freda Mary Horsnell (nee Burn) about Kenneth and his mother Ellen (referred to in the paragraph as 'my aunt' since that was her relationship to Freda).
However at the age of forty-one my aunt did fall pregnant. upon examination at hospital they decided it wasn't a pregnancy but a growth in the womb, gave her injections in the womb and paralysed the baby. He was born an imbecile, Kenneth William Leslie Burn with a cleft palate, club feet, abnormally large head, amongst other things. My aunt miraculously raised him to the age of two. They worshipped him and were devastated when he died.
